Italian sound technology — 15 years of research

Can’t switch off?15 minutes changes everything.

You know it makes no sense, and your body revs up anyway. The rooms where the first thing you look for is the way out. The nights staring at the ceiling.
Effetto Viola is a scientific sound technology that guides your brainwaves where they need to go: deep relaxation, restful sleep, sharp focus. It’s not meditation. It’s not a playlist. It’s applied neuroscience.

Sound familiar?

The ten minutes beforeNothing has happened yet and your body is already revved up. You know it makes no sense, and it happens anyway.

Your body stays switched onClenched jaw, shoulders up around your ears, that sense of being on alert even when there’s nothing to defend against.

Your mind won’t stopThoughts on repeat, even in bed. You toss and turn for hours.

You wake up already tiredYou sleep, but you don’t rest. Every morning starts on empty.

And sometimes, rather than face it, you’ve said no to something you wanted to do.

Simple

How it works

No training. No practice. Zero learning curve.

1

Put on headphones

Any stereo headphones will do. Even your phone earbuds. As long as they’re stereo.

2

Choose a program

Before something that matters, to decompress, to sleep, to get it done, for your mood. Pick based on how you feel right now.

3

15 minutes. Done.

The algorithm works on your brainwaves. You don’t have to do anything. Just listen.

Inside the music DMSPS
Two slightly different waves enter one per ear; inside the head the binaural beat is born. left right dynamic · multi-level next generation

Next-generation binaural beats.

Not the two fixed tones you find for free on YouTube or in apps.

  • Real music, classical or modern, composed by humans (not AI) for Effetto VIOLA.
  • Inside, the DMSPS algorithm creates dynamic, multi-level binaural beats.
  • With a calibrated phase offset between your left and right ear.
  • Your brain follows them and tunes in.

All you hear is music.

Longevity

Stress ages you.
Science confirms it.

Prolonged stress → Cortisol ↑ → Sleep ↓ → Inflammation → Accelerated ageing
+10 years
of additional biological age, linked to long periods of stress
Epel et al., Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2004

Cortisol — the stress hormone — when it stays high for too long, worsens sleep quality and can encourage the kind of silent inflammation linked to the ageing of our cells. The result? A vicious cycle that impacts your quality of life: energy, clarity, mood, appearance.

Effetto Viola is designed to help break this cycle.
It’s not a supplement. It’s not a drug. It’s sound neurotechnology that promotes the right brainwaves for every moment.

★★★★★
“I’d go to bed at 11pm and at 2am I’d still be lying there thinking about work, the kids, everything. I tried melatonin, herbal teas, podcasts — nothing. With NOCTURNE I fell asleep before it ended on the very first night. 14 months in and I haven’t missed a single evening.”

“I was skeptical — ‘binaural beats, sure thing’. Then I tried RESET after a day when I couldn’t even think straight. 15 minutes later I was a different person. Now I use it 3-4 times a week. It’s my mental reset button.”

“The whole family uses it. My daughter uses FOCUS for studying, I use NOCTURNE in the evening, my wife uses RESET after work. The shared subscription was the best decision of the year.”

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

The DMSPS algorithm introduces a calibrated phase misalignment between the right and left earphone, generating dynamic, multi-layered binaural beats. These guide your brain towards the desired frequencies. You put on headphones, press play, and listen for 15 minutes. The technology does the rest.
Most users report effects from the very first session. The NOCTURNE program lasts about 15 minutes and many fall asleep before it ends. No practice or consistency required — it works every time you use it.
Music. The DMSPS algorithm is embedded in seemingly ordinary tracks — split between classical and modern — composed and produced by Alessio Chelucci and Maria Luisa Mannarino. No white noise, no artificial tones: listening is genuinely pleasant. Pick a track from the program you need, put on your headphones and press play — the technology does the rest.
That’s normal — and it’s the sign that the experience is personalised. We’re all different: the algorithm is the same in every track, but it’s distributed differently in each one, precisely to maximise compatibility across different people. Take a little time and explore the tracks in your program: when you find yours, you’ll know — and from then on, they become your go-to.
Both, but differently. Beforehand: the 15 minutes get you there with your body already down a gear — it’s what RESET is most often chosen for, and the reason it lives in your phone. Once you’re already revved up: it still works, it just takes longer, because the starting point is higher. Many people use it both ways and over time learn to reach for it earlier. Effetto Viola is a wellbeing tool, not a medical device, and it does not replace your doctor’s advice.
With one click from your account — no need to contact anyone. For the monthly plan, if you haven’t listened since the charge (fewer than 2 listening sessions, in the app or in the browser), you can request a refund within 14 days of the charge, in the chat or with the withdrawal form. Full details in our Terms and Conditions. Our refund rate is 0.4% — try it once, you’ll stay.
Yes. The annual plan includes up to 10 accounts, the monthly up to 5. You can share it with family, friends or colleagues. Each person gets their own separate account.

Important: sharing is available only when purchasing from the website (effettoviola.eu), not through the iOS or Android app. Apple and Google do not technically allow multi-account subscriptions through their stores: anyone who buys through the app gets an individual, non-shareable subscription.
No, any stereo headphones will work. Even your phone earbuds. The only requirement is that they’re stereo (separate right and left earphones) because the technology works on the difference between the two channels.
You don’t have to sit still, and you don’t have to concentrate. This isn’t meditation: no emptying your mind, no breathing a certain way, no particular posture. You can walk, sit on a train, lie down, or listen while doing something else. All it takes is stereo headphones — the algorithm does the rest. That’s the difference between a technique, which you’d have to learn precisely when you’re least clear-headed, and a technology, which works on its own.
Yes, and it’s one of the most common uses. It lives in your phone and all you need is headphones: the office, a train, a waiting room, five minutes in the car before walking in somewhere. On Frecciarossa trains it’s already there, via FRECCIAPlay. One exception: don’t listen while driving. The programs guide you towards relaxation, so in a car, only when you’re parked.
Yes! Effetto Viola has been a Trenitalia partner for five consecutive years. You can use it for free on board Frecciarossa and Frecciargento trains via the FRECCIAPlay portal. CartaFRECCIA holders also get 50% off the subscription.
You always use Effetto Viola through the app (iOS and Android) and the price is identical. The difference lies in the benefits.

Buying here on the website: you can share the subscription with family or colleagues (up to 5 or 10 accounts), you get refund protection on the monthly plan within 14 days of the charge, and you can request an invoice.

Buying through the app (Google/Apple): access is limited to a single device, no refund is available, and invoices cannot be issued.
Yes, plenty of it. We have a dedicated page with the complete peer-reviewed literature on Binaural Beats, the meta-analysis of 22 international studies, the explanation of the proprietary DMSPS algorithm, the inter-hemispheric coherence data recorded after use, and how it is used in professional settings. Available in Italian and English.
